PERSPECTIVE

Last June 30, 2010 the Philippines celebrated the inauguration of a new president. For the first time in 9 years, many Filipinos look forward to the promise of real change. PNOY ran on a platform of "Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap." In a country where more than 70% of the people are below the poverty line, many have hopes and dreams but very few have the ability or the power to realize them. And worse, it seems that a lot less have the desire to do so.
